I've been a goalie for 30+ years and during that time have used or seen every product on the market. That being said, when it came time to buy a chest protector for my son (13), I knew the market as well as anyone and I went with Unequal. This chest protector is by far the market leader and with a competitive price point it should absolutely be at the top of the list. It is low profile but provides excellent protection and stopping power. In addition to the fit, I found both the build quality and attention to detail outstanding. I also really like the left rib guard, particularly for righty goalies as that is a vulnerable spot for those difficult off-stick hip saves; for my son I opted for the right right rib guard as well. Totally worth it. In terms of fit, my son is 5'9” 160 lbs and while a small would have worked, I wanted something that could grow with him so I purchased a medium; for additional context, tried it on (5'9” and an athletic 200 lbs) and there is enough adjustment that I would purchase the same size for myself. I like the fit better than my current STX 600. I have already recco'd this to every goalie I know and have no reservations recommending to this to anyone looking for incredible protection. It's just a fantastic product.

This chest pad is awesome. I hardly even feel it if I get hit square in the chest. While very minor, the only issue that I have with it is sometimes the throat guard on my helmet can get snagged on the upper part of the pad. Overall I am still very impressed with the chest pad!

Fits well, looks great and the protection is amazing.
